We’re Alex and Alex. This is Custom Craft Tools.

We design and engineer tools specifically for making soap. That sounds obvious, but it matters. Soapmaking has its own demands — heat, weight, motion, repetition — and the tools need to handle all of that while staying predictable and comfortable to use. When a tool does its job well, the process feels steady instead of stressful.

Ideas usually start rough. We sketch them, talk them through, and build something simple to see if it belongs. From there, we shape it around real use: how it moves, where pressure lands, how it feels after an hour at the table. Some ideas stop there. Others earn their way forward.

Once a tool exists, it becomes part of a workflow. That’s where it proves itself. We watch how it’s used, notice what works naturally, and adjust when something gets in the way. The goal isn’t constant change — it’s removing friction until the tool becomes second nature.

Design matters, but never on its own. Weight, finish, proportion, and naming all come from function. We want our tools to sit comfortably in a workspace, to feel intentional without asking for attention. Nothing is shaped just to look interesting.

Most of our customers are makers themselves. People who notice details and care about how their tools support the work. If one of our tools ends up on your table, it’s there to be dependable, to feel right in your hands, and to let you focus on making soap — not managing the tool.
