While many soapmakers opt to use this mold without a liner, it's important to note that unmolding can be a bit tricky depending on your specific recipe and process. We encourage you to conduct thorough research and experimentation to determine if using the mold without lining suits your needs. To provide an easy solution, we offer precut clear Mylar liners specifically tailored for this mold. For adding the liner navigate to the drop-down menu on this page and select the desired quantity of liners.
Choose the size or ASK US for custom sizes (we are online 24/7)

I purchased this mold and the 6”mold for trial recipes after seeing them on Holly’s soapmaking you tube videos and when she unmolds the soap it appears to come out easily. I have tried a few times and contacted customer services bc it has been a nightmare to unmold! I waited over 72 hours as advised and then put in freezer for 3 hours and tried to unmold when condensation appears on outside of mold but it was just awful to try to unmold. I now have the soap stuck to one long side piece! I worked so hard on the design so I hope I can get it off without destroying the soap! I followed a recipe from Holly’s soapmaking to see if it would help but I have no clue why it’s so hard for me! I guess I’ll have to line with freezer paper which defeats the purpose of purchasing a clear mold (for pours on you-tube channel videos). I should have purchased the clear one with the clear silicone liner.
Just love it.
Wow! What a difference a mold like this makes!
Superbly crafted, so easy to fit together, and no lining required. Soap released smoothly, despite only waiting 24 hours. And so easy to wash up afterwards.
I would highly recommend these molds to anyone, what a joy it is to use such beautiful equipment.
As a beginner I research molds and luckily I found this mold somewhere on my searches and love it. It is beautifully constructed and Alex has been great answering my questions.
I love how sturdy and thick this mold is. I bought 2 custom molds so far and would totally buy more in the future. Alex is great and very quick to respond. They are custom built so might take a bit longer to receive but I think they are totally worth the wait!

very nice and easy to use
I purchased 2 "Groot" molds and both are amazing! Solid, thoughtfully crafted, and exactly what I needed!! Thank you!
Hand down the best slab mold!! This is the perfect mold to make tall skinny bars that are 2.25 inches wide instead of the standard 2.5-inch bar width.
I've used this mold 3 times. I get 4 loaves totaling 64 bars. I made a 1/8-inch diminisher with some HDPE I bought at Home Depot so that I wouldn't have a long 1/8-inch strip of soap left over when I'm done cutting into loaves, but you could just as easily not bother with that at all. I do it because I absolutely hate waste.
I cut each bar just under 3cm thick with my caterpillar soap cutting station (also from Custom Craft tools) and when it's all said and done I have only 5-6oz of waste/extra soap.
I know some like that extra for samples, not me. With the price of oils/butters soaring, I want the least amount of waste possible. I'll cut up a bar if I want samples, I don't want them by default.
This mold is extremely well made, very solid, will last my lifetime and then some. Love the handles (moving 20lbs of wet soap can be challenging). It has markings for embed placement.
With larger slab molds, refrigerating if soap starts overheating is not an option, with this mold the sides are removable to quickly cool down cracking soap if necessary. I make all got milk soap so I really appreciate that feature.
I can't say enough about this mold. I'm so happy I made this investment. I have molds from other companies; Workshop Heritage, Essential Depot, a few from Etsy, those cheap purple Amazon molds...none of them can hold a candle to this mold or the wonderful customer service you will get from Custom Craft Tools.
So, if you want large batch sizes of tall/skinny soap from a mold that you'll be able to use for years to come, then you need this mold.
Love this tool. Very sturdy makes swirling so much easier.
I absolutely love my slab cutter! It’s been such a game changer for my business. The quality is incredible, and it works perfectly every time. Couldn’t imagine making soap without it now!
Quality construction as usual with the perfect shape for watermelons and candy corn soaps!
Just learning how to really appreciate this tool but so far it is delightful. It's well made and sturdy.
Excellent communication, very helpful! My order was shipped quickly and very well packaged. I received my tool 3 days ago and was delighted.
I tried horizontal and vertical cutting. It is accurate and easy to use. I can only recommend it!
I can't tell you how much I LOVE this tool! My gloves were forever slipping on my old wire one, and the handle on this beauty makes designing and swirling a breeze! Plus, it fits my mold perfectly! Thank you! ❤️
I was afraid it might leak, but no, there was no leak. As for ease of unsheathing, it is so easy that one of the screws fell off in the fridge. I guess it contracted. Love it
